Getting started this January

January is the start of a new year and it's time to get moving with your wedding plans.

If your getting married in 2013 or 2014, you should be looking into a venue as well as a florist.

A good idea to start is to compile a scrapbook of different flowers, bouquets, color schemes or centerpieces that you like.
Then when you have picked out your dress and your bridal partys' outfits, add a swatch of the fabrics to your scrapbook so that you'll have something to refer to at your appointment.

At your appointment, be sure to bring your scrapbook and be prepared to ask some essential questions.

Questions like:
Where can I see examples of your work?
How many other weddings will be on the same day as mine?
Is there a maximum distance you will travel for delivery?
Is there a delivery charge to my venue, if so how much?
Can I have a sample centerpiece made for me to see beforehand?
Is there a deposit fee?
When do I have to pay in full if I decide to book?

Your appointment should be relaxed, easy going and fun.
Picking out your Wedding flowers is a good thing!!!

So let Felthousen's Florist  help you out.

Some examples of our bouquets can be seen pictured below.

For bouquets that require a bright colorful display,
try an assortment of flowers like gerbera daisies, asiatic lilies
and multi color roses.

Rose bouquets are always a classic look.
Whether it's bright and stylish or neutral and refined,
a rose is a perfect symbol of love.

Calla lilies add an elegant distinguished look to any bouquet.
They can come in colors such as pink, purple, white,
black(very dark purple), mango, red and picasso.
The meaning of the calla lily is beauty.

Coordinating Bride and Bridesmaids bouquets is the
model way to go.
The Bridal bouquet features roses, miniature roses, lilies, hypericum berries and green ruscus wrapped in ivory satin ribbon.
The Bridesmaid bouquet consists of the same flowers or a slight variation of the Bride's bouquet, but on a smaller scale.
This bouquet has orange lilies, circus roses, miniature yellow spray roses, green hypericum berries, red alstromeria and green ruscus.  It is wrapped in red satin ribbon.
They compliment each other perfectly.

Another increasing trend is to have your flowers in a decorative fancy wrap.
The first bouquet is adorned by tasteful strands of pearls while the second bouquet has its' stems bound in an exquisite blanket of lace.
